WHEN A PLAYER IS SENT OFF

As per World Rugby Regulations, Players Ordered-Off or cited by a Citing Commissioner, shall be provisionally suspended pending the hearing of the case.
This means that no player can play until the case has been considered and dealt with by a CB Disciplinary Panel.

If a player or any other person from your club is ordered off, you must report the facts within 48 hours, via the form below, with the following details.

• The date of the fixture
• The location of the fixture
• The teams in the match
• The player’s name, date of birth and RFU Id number
• The name and contact details of you club Disciplinary Officer

When a player appears at a disciplinary hearing at least one senior Club official should always accompany him/her.

As per RFU regulations, the player’s club is required to hold its own hearing and report its conclusions to the CB disciplinary secretary prior to the CB hearing.

A player who appears at a hearing has the right to request the referee’s attendance providing that any expenses incurred by the referee are met by the player or the Club.

If the referee’s presence is not required at the hearing it will be deemed that the player has accepted the referee’s report as an accurate account of the incident(s).

A player or Club which fails to appear at a hearing without good cause or reason will be expected to pay the administration fee for the cancelled hearing and for the consequent meeting which has to be arranged to hear the case.

Hearings usually take place on Wednesday evenings at Kings College School Wimbledon, and times and dates will normally be confirmed within 24 hours of the notification of a sending off.
